Last weekend I got a lot posted to LJ/DW. This weekend I'm describing/tagging photos. I just finished doing the 2nd half of May, and there's a lot to do for June. I'd hoped to spend much of the weekend at the Folklore Society of Greater Washington/ Washington Folk Festival, but I left work at 05:00, got home after 06:00, got to bed just after 08:00, and woke near 16:00. There's not much point in trying to get to Glen Echo today; maybe tomorrow.

Yesterday was the Rosslyn Jazz Fest. This is the first time in ages I've been aware of it and not had any conflicts (weekend work, trips to NC, or Maryland RennFest). But I didn't feel like going anywhere. Heat. Crowds ( Read more... )

I got home from that after 13:00, and then it took some time to get things collected for the folk festival and for the contra dance later (shoes, skirt, lots of shirts, knee braces). The Folklore Society of Greater Washington has an annual 2-day festival at Glen Echo Park (in Maryland alongside the Potomac River, west of DC and inside the beltway). There's 7 stages, with acts scheduled from 12:00 to 19:00. All the performers are local, and all the talent and support labor are volunteer.
